Hollister Hills - Oct. 5, 2002
We had a good time at Hollister today. Everybody had fun and there were no roll-overs or other catastrophes.
Attendees were:
Dave, Patrick and I started with a warm up run up to the quarry, via Rabbit Trail and Dry Trough trail. We played a bit at the quarry, and Dave demonstrated how much better a D1 with center and rear locked diffs is than a D2 with ETC only. No one was supprised.
We then returned to the picnic area. By then, Ken had arrived and we hooked up with Barry and his friends.
We played on the obsticle course abit. We did the stair step and then the frame twister.
Then we hit the trials. We started out on West Trail and stopped for lunch on a turn out at the top of a hill. Barry was leading at this point, so I'm sure exactly which hill we were on.
After lunch, we continued up to Fremontia Road, the only black diamond trail of the day. It was steep, but not very technical and nobody had any problems.
We then headed down McCray Road, around Big Garner Springs Loop, back to McCray Road down to Bonanza Gulch Road. We played around in a gully and got some good photos of axel articulation.
Everyone was ready to call it day by this time, so we meandered back to the picnic area and set out for home.
It was a good day.
